Rules

General Rules and Guidelines

1) Each team will have 11 players.
2) Each inning will be of 14 over’s. Each over will comprise 6 legal deliveries.
> Innings would be played in two halves of 7 overs each from each end
> Fielding team will decide the bowling end for the first 7 overs i.e. over # 1-7, next set of 7 overs i.e. over # 8-14 would be bowled from the other end
> Team fielding in second innings may or may not start the innings from the same end.
> 1 Inning is expected to be complete in 75 minutes (1 Hour 15 minutes) @ Over rate of ~ 5 minutes/over
3) All the matches will be played with Soft Ball (Khanna – Famex).
4) Each inning will be played with a new ball.
5) In case the ball is lost while playing, replacements ball will be given to play the remaining inning, decision on which ball to be used would be taken by the on field umpires.
6) The Toss for each match will be done in presence of the two umpires and both captains. The toss will be done with a Indian Rupee coin only.
7) Last man batting will be not allowed i.e. there will be 10 wickets per inning.
8) Two bowlers are allowed to bowl 4 over each. Other bowlers can bowl 3 over each.
9) Apart from bowler and keeper, there must be 4 fielders in the inner circle throughout the innings. Umpire can give a no-ball if fielding restrictions are violated.
10) Batsman can appeal to the umpire in case he observes violation in field restrictions. If umpire finds it valid, he is free to change the decision.
11) Extra runs for Wide Balls, No Balls, Byes and Leg Byes.
12) Extra runs for overthrows can be taken.
13) Umpire’s decision will be the last decision.
14) In case a bowler bowls a lot of extras in an over, the over cannot be cancelled nor a baby (3 ball) over will be granted That bowler can be discontinued and other bowler can continue his over provided he has not finished his allotted quota of over’s. The bowler discontinued, cannot bowl for the rest of the match. This over will be bowled again irrespective of any number legal deliveries were bowled. All runs scored in the discontinued over would be added in the batting team total.
15) Walk Over clause. In case team doesn’t turn up at the venue within 15 min of the scheduled start of the match, then match would be awarded to the other team. If both teams doesn’t turn up in the given time frame then no points would be awarded to both the teams and the match would not be rescheduled
16) Minimum 10 players would be required to start the match. In case of less 10 players present a team, and then match would be awarded to other team
17) Bowler injury clause: In case of injury to the bowler, his over can be completed by any other bowler, provided he has not finished his allotted quota of over’s
18) Hit wicket will be considered as out.
19) A batsman can be made to step down for another batsmen stating as retired hurt. He can return only as the Last Batsman.
20) Before commencement of every over, the bowler is supposed to tell the Umpire, the bowling side and the bowling arm he will be using. (Ex: Right Arm Round the wicket, Left Arm Over the wicket etc.) (Even if the bowler is continuing his over) If in case this is not told to the umpire, the Umpire shall declare the ball as a No Ball. There will be extra runs for such a No Ball and if the Batsman hits the ball and takes runs, such runs will be added to the total score of the batting team.
21) At most one bouncer is allowed per over. Additional bouncers will be counted as No Balls. Such delivery will fetch extra runs to the batting team and the bowling team will have to bowl an extra ball. In case ball is bowled too wide from height perspective so that it is completely beyond batsman reach, then in such case also ball would be declared as wide ball
22) If the batting side has any complaint over the bowler’s bowling action, the umpire’s decision will be the last decision. Umpire will verify the action in subsequent deliveries and umpire decision in this case would be final (umpire can declare it as no ball) Organizers can be consulted for further action.
23) The two people umpiring the match will not be from the playing team.
24) There will be no third umpire hence the decision for run outs, caught behind wickets and boundaries given by the two umpires will be considered as final.
25) A full toss ball above the waist level of the batsman will be considered as a No Ball. This shall fetch extra run for the batting team. The bowling team will have to bowl an extra ball.
26) There is no restriction as to whether a wicketkeeper can bowl. A wicketkeeper can also bowl. The maximum over limit applicable for a regular bowler will be applicable to the wicketkeeper also.
27) No LBW.
28) A substitute can only field.
29) Free hit Rule — When a bowler bowls a no ball, in the immediate next ball, the batsman cannot be ruled out in any dismissal modes other than; run out, handled the ball, hit the ball twice and obstructing the field. This freedom enables the batsman to play a powerful shot without the fear of getting out caught, bowled or stumped.
30) Winning team will get 2 points.
31) Batting Team will get 0.5 bonus points on scoring above average of 8 runs per over.
32) Bowling Team will get 0.5 bonus points if opposite team gets out within 10 over.
33) In case of a tie, both teams will get one point each.
34) Team having greater net run rate will proceed to next round if points are equal.
35) In case of Tie of points in the League, the Net Run-Rate will be the decisive factor.
36) In case of tie in the entire knock out matches (Semi Finals/Final match), result will be decided by “Super Over”.
37) If any team found guilty for arguing with umpires or on the rules mentioned above during the match, that team shall be barred from the tournament immediately without any further consideration.
38) Power Play – There would be THREE Power Plays – first 2 overs are compulsory and 1 as batsman PP and 1 as Bowler PP in each inning. First two overs of the inning would be compulsory Power Play from bowling side. During First Power Play only 2 fielders can be outside the inner circle while in batting and bowling PP 3 fielders can be outside the inner circle.  In case both Bowling and Batting team not taken PP till 12th over, then 13th will be Bowling PP and 14th will be batting PP.
39) Misbehavior by any team or supporters, ON or OFF the field needs to be dealt adequately. As discussed, at least email would be sent to all the participating team describing the incident.
40) Player’s identification – Each team needs to produce a valid Team Nomination Letter from their Company HR/Administration. Each team member needs to be carrying some identity proof which can be used for verification. Responsibility for producing the letter and identity proofs lies with the respective team only. Each team needs to be ready for the verification whenever asked.
41) Replacement of players: Each team needs to submit their team list of 18 players. Once team is submitted, replacement of any player from the list is not allowed.
42) Net Run Rate Formula to be used is as follows Net Run Rate = Run Rate (Scoring) – Run Rate (Given)
43) Winning Team would send the complete match update (with Net Run Rate details for both the teams) to the organizing team. Incase of tie, both team needs to mutually decide for sending the match update with complete details.
44) A Panel of representatives from any 3 to 4 teams would be sitting together before the final match for deciding all MOM, MOS, Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Special Achievement awards.
45) In case if a match is completely washed out due to rain, the match would be rescheduled /equal points would be distributed to the playing teams.
46) Make sure that all the players from your team are in company attire to exhibit professionalism of the event. Apart from general attire i.e. Company Tshirt, Lower, Cap, shoes, supporter (if any) player cannot wear other accessories like gloves, pad during match.
47) No runner allowed, even if a player gets an injury on field during match. If batsmen get retired he would walk in as the last man.

48)  Yellow/Red card rule.

If any player is found guilty of following offence then UMPIRES have authority to give the YELLOW card (warning) to that player or RED card(Send-off) if offence is extreme, two yellow cards would be equivalent to red card.

Offences
1. Use of foul language
2. Misbehaving with players/umpires
3. Abusing
4. Fighting
5. Excessive Argument and taunting to umpires
6. Not co-operating with organizing team in investigation (if needed) and keeping spirit of the game intact (Can be handed over by the organizers)

Impact of Red Card
• Batting/Bowling
o Suspended from the match and other playing 10 members will continue the action      (Bowling restriction will remain as it is).
o Replaced by substitute player only for fielding
o Misses next match

Match delay:

In case team is not able to complete the inning in 75 minutes, the captain can be given yellow card at discretion of the on-fielding umpires. Opponent team won’t have the privilege to ask for the yellow card, it’s totally reserved with the umpires and organizing committee.

Super Over Rules

  • Weather permitting, the Super Over will commence 10 minutes after the main match.
  • We would play super over in power play condition i.e. Max 3 fielders allowed outside the inner circle.
  • The team batting second in the main match will bat first in the Super Over.
  • In both innings, the fielding team chooses from which end to bowl.
  • The loss of two wickets ends the team’s innings.
  • In the event of the scores being level in the Super Over, the first satisfied of the following criteria will determine the winner:
    1. The team with the most number of boundaries combined from the main match and the Super Over is the winner.
    2. The team with the most number of boundaries from the main match and Super Over is the winner.
    3. A count-back from the final ball of the Super Over shall be conducted. The team with the higher scoring delivery is the winner. If a team loses two wickets during its over, any unbowled deliveries are considered dot balls. Runs scored from illegal deliveries count towards the total for the following legal delivery.

Tourney Format

League Stage :

  1. 29 teams participating in this tourney.
  2. 5 teams in each group. Total 6 groups (A-E)
  3. Each team will play matches with the teams within group. 4 league matches for each team.

Super 10 stage

  1. Based on winning points and NRR, Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for Super 10 stage.
  2. Total 10 teams will qualify for this stage.
  3. League matches will be played within these teams.
  4. Top 4 teams will qualify for Semi-Finals.

Super 12 League Group Format

Top 2 teams from each group of league stage will qualify for Super 12 round. We shall seed these teams based on their points/NRR and divide them into 4 groups equally, where they will play in round robin fashion again.

Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for next round, the knockout stage of tournaments. This will comprise of Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and Grand Finale. All the teams from last round will be seeded based on points/NRR.

Rules of Women’s cricket tourney :

  1. A team can have maximum 12 players
  2. Playing team will be of 8 players but can start play with minimum 7 players
  3. Wicket-keeper is mandatory
  4. 30 yards circle will be boundary
  5. Each inning will be of 6 overs
  6. Match will be played with one side only
  7. No power play will be applicable
  8. Any bowler can bowl maximum 2 overs
  9. No under arm bowling is allowed
  10. Bowler can throw bowl as a legal delivery to batsman
  11. All other standard rules including Wide-ball, No-ball & free-hit will be applicable
  12. Pitch length will be of 20 yards

Note -: The organizers reserve the rights to change / add /withdraw any of the rules without notice and will be announced before the match. No complaints regarding the same shall be entertained. Organizing committee is not responsible for any personal injuries happened during cricket tournament neither we are responsible for any property damage or loss of cricket equipment. In case any player from team damage the property of ground or hurt umpires, we will ban the player/team and additionally team/player need to bare cost of all damages.
